Tim Burton challenge! xD
Here's the prompt: http://tintin-kinkmeme.dreamwidth.org/1701.html?thread=1210533#cmt1210533

This was surprisingly difficult, because both Hergé and Burton have such distinct styles, especially when it comes to body proportions. Hergé's characters are quite thick-set and broad-shouldered (even the thin ones), whereas Burton's characters have legs that go for days. The only thing they seem to have in common is favouring slightly large heads and heavily caricatured faces.
I struggled to make it look recognisably "Burton-esque" (and I probably didn't spend as much time on it as I should have /*lazy*), but I managed to sneak in a couple of things from his films (yes, I've seen them all -- some of them, dozens of times x3).
I'm sure he'd do a much better job of adapting the "Tintin" characters into his style (haha duh) ... but, to be honest, I don't think I'd really want him to try ^^'
p.s. I also snuck in some mild slash, just for y'all :D <3
p.p.s. ... yeah, that is supposed to be Rastapopoulus' silhouette over the moon. Turns out his silhouette is a lot less easy to draw than Oogie Boogie's xD

Date: 2012-03-24 05:10 pm (UTC)It's a brilliant combination of their distinct styles. The elongated legs, the slight blush on their faces. And yes, their faces.....It's all beautiful! *Wibbles*
THIS IS THE BEST!IT'S SO PERFECT!
I'm trying to see what I can recognize from his films, so far aside from The Nightmare Before Christmas, I see Beetlejuice, maybe Frankenweenie? (I might be stretching it there). There's probably tons more, but I'm too in awe of this to remember.
Tintin must have the strength of a thousand man! He's a very debonair hero, saving the
damselmore like extremely frightened Captain and Snowy.I love your art!
